This EFLA workshop focused on the topic of organic production and specifically the implications of the new EU legislation. Ms Elena Panichi (Head of Unit – Organics, DG AGRI, European Commission) shared an overview of the new legislation. This was followed by a presentation from Mr Antoine Faure (Ecocert, Vice-President of the European Organic Certifiers Council (EOCC) and EOCC coordinator of the Working Group Import), who shared the views of organic certifiers. After that Ms Aurora Abad (Managing Director, Organic Processing and Trade Association) talked about the organic processors’ perspective. The workshop concluded with a legal discussion on the presented topics.
